Satellite Remote Sensing: An Introduction

This book is concerned specifically with remote sensing from satellite platforms orbiting in space. It is intended as an introduction to the subject for use by undergraduates studying remote sensing as a component of an environmental science subject, such as geography or geology. The first part discusses the physical basis of the subject, the data employed and the ways in which they are processed. Chapter 6 on digital imaging links the first part of the book with the second part which is concerned with the applications of satellite remote sensing in the environmental sciences.
