One woman’s search for forgiveness and peace leads her down the path of pain and despair, only to find hope via God’s grace. Gospel singer Charmaine Hopewell has been searching for her mother since she was abandoned at the tender age of 11. Still, after surviving years in foster care, Charmaine appears comfortable with her life. She has a successful singing ministry and a loving husband, Harlan, whose own ministry as an evangelist is flourishing – mainly because he openly disdains pop psychology in lieu of ministerial counseling. When Charmaine finds her mother in a mental institution, however, her secret struggles with depression and her search for meaning resurface, forcing her into a decision – either hide her past for the sake of Harlan’s ministry or force him to acknowledge her family’s struggles and need for help. Will Charmaine finally be able to embrace the healing that is possible even after all this time?
